Freeware Fan-Made Remake of Classic Sonic Levels
Sonic Fan Remix is a freeware remake of classic levels from Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, which makes use of 2.5D graphics. At present, the game only consists of a one zone demo; a re-imagining of all three acts from the iconic Emerald Hill Zone, with the full game having been placed on indefinite hold. While staying true to the style of the original games, Sonic Fan Remix makes occasional design tweaks and also introduces a variety of new background effects. The gameplay itself is very close to the classic games, albeit slightly slower.

Gorgeous graphics, but only a remake..
Too bad it's only a remake and there is nothing much new to the game design. Would have been even funnier. More

Sonic Fan Remix is to fangames as Miyamoto is to Nintendo..
If someone were to say that Sonic Fan Remix scooped up all of my hopes and dreams in the middle of the night and put them into one awesome classic Sonic the Hedgehog inspired game, they would be right.
So why on earth would the developers of this wonderful, beautiful and all in all, awe inspiring fan game cancel it?
I feel that someone could easily pick this up in their spare time, complete it, look for the full version only to find that it was indeed cancelled and then ask themselves one question. "Why?"
But everything aside, due to its beautiful design, physics, soundtrack and well, its simplicity, I give this game a 9/10
Pros:
Physics that awesomely mimic classic games.
The variety in the soundtrack.
Cons:
One thing that I think you should fix is the sound that Sonic makes when he slides. Maybe you were trying to go for a realistic sound, but for some reason I like the original better. Just an annoyance though. More
